Ter gelegenheid van de 750e verjaardag van Amsterdam zijn we het project Vrouwen van Amsterdam gestart. De aftrap was op 8 maart 2024 op Internationale Vrouwendag. Vanaf die datum roepen we iedereen op om een ode te maken voor een vrouw die belangrijk is (geweest) voor de stad Amsterdam. Deze odes zijn te zien op dit platform en worden opgenomen in de collectie van het Amsterdam Museum.
Benthe Knipmeijer is bijna veertig jaar kapster geweest aan het Zonneplein in Tuindorp Oostzaan. Schrijfster Christine Otten heeft haar een ode gebracht, waarin ze Benthe prijst voor haar doorzettingsvermogen en toewijding aan de buurt.
